Taiwan government decides to allow Chinese investors stake in Taiwanese technology companies, according to a March 2, 2011 report by the China Times of Taiwan. It is reported that Chinese investors will be able to invest in Taiwanese panel and semiconductor industries, taking as much as 10% share. At the same time, Chinese companies are also allowed to set up joint ventures with Taiwanese panel and semiconductor companies, and investment from China is limited to less than 50% of the JVs.
